Arts & Sciences by Night

City of Arts & Sciences, Valencia · 2015

In Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences at blue hour, the eye-shaped Hemisfèric and the white ribs of the science museum glow above a shallow reflecting pool. The complex was designed largely by Santiago Calatrava, a native of Valencia. It sits in the old bed of the Turia River, which was rerouted around the city after a devastating flood in 1957. The still water doubles every curve, giving the scene a cool, futuristic calm.
