Mist of Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, Zambia · 2022

Spray rises in great white plumes from the gorge, veiling the falling curtain of water and drifting up into a bright blue sky. In the foreground, a grassy cliff edge and a rough stone railing give a sense of standing right at the brink. Victoria Falls stretches about a mile wide and drops over 300 feet, forming what is often described as the largest sheet of falling water on Earth. Its spray can rise hundreds of meters and is visible from miles away, which is why locals named it Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders.
